Fast Delicious Vegan Salad Dressing

Solotopia.com - being single successfully

I’ve been searching for years for a delicious vegan salad dressing that is super healthy. There are many you can buy that present themselves as being healthy, but they are not! Too much vegetable oil (of all kinds), too much sodium, too much fat, and too many ingredients I can’t even pronounce.

I’ve gone the vinegar and (vegetable) oil route. I even refined it to extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar for a few years. The combination was tasty, but I learned that extra virgin olive oil is not as good for you as promoted by the producers. It’s highly processed and very high in fat. Yes, I’ve heard it too, “Good fat.” Well, too much “good fat” is bad for your health and waistline.

After much experimentation here’s what I came up with. You’ll notice that all the ingredients are organic, which is my latest personal upgrade. I’ve transitioned to nearly 100% organic (article) in my food and more. Okay, enough on that, let’s get to the delicious vegan salad dressings.

The base ingredient of both of these recipes is organic plain hummus, which is very healthy — if you choose a brand that is organic and clean like Cedar’s. I’m not going to be too specific on ingredient amounts as that is based on personal taste. I make single servings of these dressings as I create my salad masterpieces 😀 , which are also all organic. I just put all the ingredients in a small bowl, mix, fold in the salad, and enjoy. Here we go.

Chipotle tomato delight

  • 1-3 spoons organic plain hummus
  • 1-2 spoons organic roasted chipotle salsa
    • I use the Whole Foods 365 brand. Also available via Amazon Fresh
    • Any other salsa that you like may work.
    • If it contains tomatoes be sure it organic as they are usually dirty.

Smoked paprika pleasure

  • 1-3 spoons organic plain hummus
  • 1-2 dashes organic cayenne pepper powder
  • 2-3 dashes organic onion powder
  • 2-3 dashes organic garlic powder
  • 4-7 dashes organic smoked paprika powder
    • Pick, add, and try the spices you like.

Fix a spectacular salad, mix up a delectable vegan salad dressing, and enjoy the healthy pleasures of it all.
