What is the Tiny Living Movement?

Books suggested by Brad Paul, Guru Habits.
Top-rated, bestsellers, and classics.

I did a Google search today using the keywords “tiny living movement” and no results for this particular name appeared.

There were similar names that I am familiar with like tiny house movement, small house movement, and one closely named video that turned out to be about tiny houses.  But there were no results for tiny living movement.

So what is the difference between the small house movement and the tiny living movement? They are similar in one key area but very different in their scope.

The primary emphasis of the small house movement, as you would imagine, is on small and tiny houses.  This includes all aspects of small house design, building, furnishing, and living.  Their efforts do not extend too far beyond small houses and small house neighborhoods.

The small house movement has several key players who I’ve come to know by reading the material and watching videos on their websites.  I find them to be intelligent, creative, and sincere.  Although I’ve not yet met any of them, I am particularly impressed by their strong convictions about the advantages of this lifestyle.

The tiny living movement is much broader.  Its focus includes small houses, everything inside and outside of them, as well as the full spectrum of small and tiny things that make up the tiny lifestyle.  This would include small furniture, small appliances, small electronics, small pools, small gardens, small cars, small motorhomes, and for me, small petite (dark-haired) women. 🙂  Yes, I’m a tiny living connoisseur.

It is possible that the “tiny living movement” is being started here — although I might call it the small living movement instead.  If that’s true, I would still consider it to be inspired by the small house movement and apart of that community.

I’m not concerned about credit or who started what.  My energies are concentrated on providing intelligent information on small and tiny living that serves the highest good of all.  If that sounds new agey or geeky, that’s because I am. Although I don’t look like a geek, I’ve come to embrace the fact that I am a non-genius geek living in a somewhat cool guy’s body.

Join the tiny living movement, have some fun, and create an extraordinary life.
